About

Greetings…

I’m a young Australian with an insatiable appetite for adventure. This blog’s title, an abstract of my life experience, is a nod to the very zen lyric from Glenn Richards (of Augie March) in One Crowded Hour:

If love is a bolt from the blue, then what is that bolt but a glorified screw?

  1. Fantastic photos. You really manage to capture the beauty of Australia, which is hard to explain to people who haven’t been here. We might not have forests of deciduous trees or conifers, but that makes our landscape more challenging and interesting.

I’ll definately be keeping up with your pics.

    • you’ve pretty much hit it on the head here. as i mentioned to someone else, although not huge in physical scale, we’ve a lot of diversity on offer in our protected regions. it’s all about the subtle details of adaptability to the various ecosystems that keeps me interested. it is as much a showcase as a learning experience. cheers

    Great photographs.

It would be great if you could add in the blog some description, some story, your feelings/thoughts while taking the photographs . Otherwise you are using blogs in very similar fashion one uses flickr. My experiments in the same direction can be seen at From the Periphery.

The bottomline: I found very beautiful photographs on this blog.

  4. Hi! I’ve already expressed my appreciation and interest for your great shots… I’ve just noticed your photos here are linked to your Flickr account. May I ask you what Flickr/Wordpress settings you use to insert them into a post on here, and to create those little cute photo collages? Thank you so much!

    • Thanks for your interest and feedback! Yes, all the images are hosted on my flickr account. I embed the images into my wordpress post by pasting in the html code that flickr automatically generates for sharing (resizing where appropriate). I don’t like to fill the entire post with large images, so will often include thumbnails that are hyperlinked to a larger size if someone wishes to explore a bit more.
